Nobodies in Hell

They Were Somebody

The people of Hell were at one time somebody. The somebodies of this world might have even lived good lives according to the standards of our day and age. Some of them having gone faithfully to their buildings of worship have done exceedingly fine works. That ought to be worth something in spending so much time in fellowship and doing what is proper and right.

The well-meaning Atheist who taught and shared in their communities by giving knowledge and understanding are also somebody to take notice and perhaps admire for their enthusiasm. They are wrong in their teaching but I'm sure they didn't mean any harm. They really thought God did not exist. At least that is what they were taught and God hasn't verbally told them anything otherwise.

The political minded are also somebody. Many spent years in public service and only wanted nothing more but to fulfill John Lennon's lyrics. The open minded politician was somebody that many imagined made the world a better place:

Imagine

By John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace

You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world

You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one

These people were somebody in their day and age and had many friends. Everybody in their social circles knew their name. Many would buy them beers and drinks as they listen to their stories and propaganda. They were the good old boys and girls in their community and were beloved.

How Did Things Go Wrong?

The bible says that under grace, the salvation of a sinner is declared in about 115 passages to depend only on believing. It doesn't take much intellect to believe. The Bible says,

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time" 1 Corinthians 1-8.

It is not that hard to believe in Jesus. Many make it hard by believing in things contrary to Scripture. There are even those who believe that Jesus never existed. What a shame that these somebodies would rather believe in their fables than in the true eyewitnesses of God who declared, "That he was seen".

It is sad to say that after years of isolation in Hell these somebodies will finally realize that they were really nobodies in the scheme of things. After years in Hell nothing will matter anymore. What had been is gone and no longer brings joy to their heart. They were somebody but now they are nobodies in Hell.

After years of darkness and isolation a light will appear unto the nobodies in Hell. They will be finally be released. Some might even jump for joy thinking what they had endured was just temporal. They soon find out that they are wrong about Hell being temporal. They are ushered before the throne of God to be judged. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

"There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" Matthew 24:51.

They will appear before the Son of God that many hoped didn't exist. They will find all kinds of excuses but they will not be able to use them. The Great White Throne Judgment is a judgment of works not a time for excuses.

"I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened" (Daniel 7:9-10).

Jesus Christ gathers the dead for judgment. One by one they must appear before Him, whom they rejected, and every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess to God. Everyone will give an account of himself to God,

"For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.  So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God" (Romans 14:11-12).

Oh what terrifying fear and perpetual shame will grip them when every secret, thought, deed, idle word, and judgment that they had made will become manifest in this day of wrath,

"And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten" (Jeremiah 23:40).

"Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another; In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel" (Romans 2:15-16).

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned" (Matthew 12:36-37).

"For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again" (Matthew 7:2).

"But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds" (Romans 2:5-6).

Unlike the jury trials of this earth that decides guilt or innocence the wicked will stand guilty and condemned already. They have already received their verdict long ago. When they broke God's commandments and became transgressors of the law they came under a curse  God through His Scriptures has concluded them all under sin, all unrighteous, and all in danger of Hell fire and judgment,

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all" (James 2:10).

"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them" (Galatians 3:10).

"But the Scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe" (Galatians 3:22).

It's Not Too Late To Believe

It is simple to believe on Jesus but not to "nobodies" who choose to believe in nothing but false ideas. Say this prayer and mean it. Dear God I acknowledge my sin before you. I now turn from my sin and ask you to be merciful to me a sinner. Forgive me. I believe in your Son Jesus Christ that died on the cross so I could live. I believe Jesus rose from the dead victorious over the grave. Please Take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you in Jesus' name I pray. AMEN.

Become the somebody that God will be proud of and begin to live for Jesus.
