THOSE DAM DAMS AND LAKES

The thing I want you to see this morning is the extent of damage the global quake will have upon the world. When the mountains are moved and islands are shifted out of place, so will the rivers, tributaries, and lakes. The disasters caused by flooding will mount into the thousands of damned souls.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 (locally, the Great Flood of 1889) occurred on May 31, 1889, after the catastrophic failure of the South Fork Dam on the Little Conemaugh River 14 miles (23 km) upstream of the town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The dam broke after days of extremely heavy rainfall, releasing as much as 14.55 million cubic meters of water. Over 2,000 people lost their lives. One minute they were in the safety of their home waiting for the rain to stop and some flooding to abate and then it happened; The dam broke and swept them all away.
In 1975 the 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗾𝗶𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝗺 in china burst due to heavy rainfall. The construction did not anticipate the worse rainfall in 2000 years. The loss of life was horrendous: 171,000 deaths occurred and 11 million displaced. The people had trust in their government. The reservoir dam was to make Chinese lives better, supplying electricity through power generation. Instead of progress they regressed to the point of death.
Drowning is a horrible death. But raging waters bringing debris with it is too much for our minds to handle. The pain associated with loss of breath and life must have seemed like Hell reaching out and grabbing hold to these poor souls.
Two fishermen out doing what they loved best suffered death when their boat capsized at the spillway of Pickwick Dam on the Tennessee River. It was a tragic accident. The raging water overcame their little boat and plunged them beneath the currents until they expired.
The time of the great earthquake will cause great destruction and death. The mountains will be moved, the dams will burst, and people will die. If only they had been ready. Jesus had said,
𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝟮𝟰:𝟰𝟰
“𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝘆𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆: 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵.”
𝗟𝘂𝗸𝗲 𝟭𝟮:𝟰𝟬
“𝗕𝗲 𝘆𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼: 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗻𝗼𝘁.”
Are you ready? Many people thought they were ready to live another day but a flood of raging water prematurely took their lives. Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ? He is coming to gather together his Church and judge the world.
𝟮 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝟮:𝟭
“𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗻, 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝗺,”
The energy released from an earthquake can be up to 10,000 times greater than the first atomic bomb. A small tsunami created by an earthquake can cause a lake to send forth waves of water. The water may only be three feet high and yet cause massive destruction. These small tsunamis are capable of destroying houses and uprooting trees. Many have died due to fallen trees. During the quake, you might have made it to the outdoors just to have a tree fall and crush you death. After the quake, death will still seize hold on the unexpectant.
Groundwater, sand and soil combine during seismic shaking to form liquefaction during a moderate to powerful earthquake. A quicksand like soil is the result of this process. When liquefaction takes place under buildings the foundations sink and the building collapse. After the earthquake, the soil firms again and the water settles deeper in the ground. Areas with sandy soil and groundwater close to the surface are far more at risk of liquefaction. This liquefaction can cause your building to collapse even after you think it survived the earthquake. There will be no safe haven for those who survive the BIG ONE.
