None of us are perfect. In fact the Bible gives a perfect
description of us,
3:10 As
it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
3:11 There
is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
3:12 They
are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is
none that doeth good, no, not one.
3:13 Their
throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the
poison of asps is under their lips:
3:14 Whose
mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
3:15 Their
feet are swift to shed blood:
3:16 Destruction
and misery are in their ways:
3:17 And
the way of peace have they not known:
3:18 There
is no fear of God before their eyes.
3:19 Now
we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under
the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty
before God.
3:20 Therefore
by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by
the law is the knowledge of sin.
It is in our nature to lie and do mischief. The sooner we
realize how imperfect we are the better we will become. We should not trust
ourselves but be constantly evaluating our behavior and changing for the
better.
During the Presidential Inauguration a picture was circulating
showing how small President Trumps' crowd was at his inauguration compared with
Obama's inauguration. Who really cares, many of us would say. However, many in
the media cared a lot. They no doubt were trying to downplay how important the
day was for Trump's supporters. The truth or fact of the matter was that no tally
was given. No one knows how large it really was. However there were pictures. But
do pictures always demonstrate the facts?
There are so many factors involved in comparing pictures
from previous years in order to prove a point of who is the greatest President
elect of all time. You have to examine the whole facts and look at more than
one picture. You have to look at crowd control and even possible demonstrators that
might be blocking entrance ways. There might even be other factors that may make
for a great or bad picture. Not all things are equal when given there are so
many changing variables that make for a picture from inauguration to inauguration.
The one thing that struck me was mean-spiritedness of people who
brought it up size to begin with. It was like a spectator at your wedding who
pointed out how small it was. "It was the smallest wedding I have ever
seen," he or she would say. He not
only gossiped about how small it was but also showed pictures. In his hateful
spirit he might even give a picture to the press to show how that not many
showed up at your wedding.
There is a lot of hate going on right now. We need to stay
calm and show a little love. Let love be our guide in everything we do. We need
to by all means constrain our lower nature and let the spirit of love guide us
always.
