Exo 14:22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of
the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their
right hand, and on their left.
When Israel left evil Egypt, the pharaoh and his minions
tried to destroy all of them. They were prevented by a pillar of fire and wall
of safety that God provided to usher the children of God across the red sea.
1Ki 3:1 And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of
Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David,
until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD,
and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
Wise Solomon who built the temple also put a wall around
Jerusalem.
2:17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are
in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire:
come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.
Walls were essential to the old world and will be in the
future world to come:
Rev 21:12 And had
a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels,
and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the
children of Israel:
Rev 21:14 And the
wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve
apostles of the Lamb.
Rev 21:15 And he
that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates
thereof, and the wall thereof.
Rev 21:17 And he
measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to
the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
Rev 21:18 And the
building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto
clear glass.
Rev 21:19 And the
foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious
stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a
chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and
whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a
lie.
