Believe in God

The Bible makes it clear how God wants us to respond to His being.

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" Hebrews 11:6.

We must believe in God and God confirms His Words in our hearts. I remember as a young man of eighteen when God spoke in my heart with these questions:

"Do you believe in God?"

"Yes," I acknowledged.

"Do you believe in the Bible?"

"Yes," again I acknowledged.

Do you believe in my Son?

"Yes, I believe in Jesus."

"Then why are you not studying my Word by ready my Scriptures?"

God made a good point. It is sad that many believe in God and yet have not read the Scriptures. They have the faintest idea about the God in whom they believed.

Another Word came to me months later. It was a Word that I never knew, "Abide."

Jesus said,

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me" John 15:4.

This is an important message. We need to study the Word of God and also abide and stay with its teaching. We should always be learning and growing in faith. We should never stop studying God's Word. We should abide and live in His Words. Jesus gave the importance of always living and abiding in His Word,

"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" Matthew 4:4.

Jeremiah the prophet said about the same thing,

"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts" Jeremiah 15:16.

It is a shame that many Christians do not memorize Scripture. We should know whole books of the Bible by the time we reach our senior years. But we remember more about the movies we watched on TV than books of the Bible.

Let's Get Into the Bible

The easiest way for me to show you beginning steps of faith is by directing you to my books. These books will give you a foundation in Scripture. The first book is called, "The Roman Road".

The next book has to do with Hell.

These books will give you a fundamental understanding of Scripture before we head off to the advanced study of Scripture.
